The Power of a Good Start

The Power of a good start

Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

  • New beginning
    • We live in a Kingdom that is governed by principles.
    • You know what God said, my ways are not your ways neither are my thoughts your thoughts.
    • God is methodical, Satan is chaotic.
    • You need to understand that it is paramount to embrace divine order.
    • Every new beginning is a manifestation of a divine order.
    • A beginning is an opportunity for you to right your wrongs, start afresh, rekindle hope and open a new chapter, rewrite your story and change your history.
    • There is something about the power of a good start.
    • Imagine if Adam had not messed up the good start God gave him, imagine where the planet earth will be.
    • It is important for a believer to maximize the power of a good start.

  • Power of a good start
    • You can’t beat the power of a good start.
    • For every aeroplane to fly, there is always ground power generated.
    • You only tow things on the ground, you don’t tow anything flying.
    • If you must fly in the course of the year, you must generate adequate power from the beginning.
    • The reason why a lot of people cannot fly is because they have not been able to generate adequate ground power.
    • We spend time to fast and pray so that we can generate adequate ground power.
    • All head of the family need to note that devil is always after you
    • Most importantly the key bread winner or the rallying point of family
    • “go neither for the old or young but for the King of Israel”.
    • There are battles reserved for the head..
      • Zech 13:7 “Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, Against the Man who is My Companion,”Says the Lord of hosts. “Strike the Shepherd, And the sheep will be scattered; Then I will turn My hand against the little ones”

  • A new beginning is an opportunity to get the foundation right,
    • therefore every new beginning gives you an opportunity to correct foundational mistakes so that your destiny can pick up.
    • There is something about the beginning, it is holy and sacred unto the Lord.
    • I am yet to see anyone doing exponentially well in this Kingdom who doesn’t understand this mystery.
      • Numbers 8:17 For all the firstborn among the children of Israel are Mine, both man and beast; on the day that I struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I [a]sanctified them to Myself.
    • Every beginning is holy unto the Lord. The principle of this is called the principle of “one for all” and “the first for the rest“.
    • Once the beginning is captured, the rest is captured.
    • Why do we worship on the first day of the week?
      • It is sacred and dedicated unto the Lord. God always claim the beginning.
    • If the enemy should capture your beginning, he has captured the rest.
      • Numbers 3:13 because all the firstborn areOn the day that I struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I sanctified to Myself all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast. They shall be Mine: I am the Lord.
      • Romans 11:16 For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

  • This is January 2021.
    • Do you know some people already missed it by fighting and arguing, all plans for the year already scattering, some are back to the errors of yesteryears.
    • The beginning determines the rest.
    • History does not repeat itself, it is people that repeat their errors.
    • If you do not do something new, nothing is new in the year.
    • It means you just continued 2020.
    • The greatest honour you can give God is to honour Him with your beginning.
    • Proverbs 3:9-10 Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.
    • It is too early to miss it.
    • Adam being the first man, representing the beginning of humanity,
      • He missed it, putting the rest of humanity in trouble.
    • If you get January right, and get it right in February and March,
    • it can still be corrected and will still not affect your destiny for the year but
    • if you get it wrong in January, it will affect the whole year.
    • When Adam was with Eve, Eve ate the fruit and nothing happened.
    • Grace was still working for them but immediately the first man ate the fruit, nakedness set in.
    • I have seen great beginnings. Do something great in the beginning, the rest of the year will follow.

  • Give your beginning to God
    • Those who give God their beginning have given God the greatest honour anyone can give God.
    • Ezekiel 44:30 The best[a] of all firstfruits of any kind, and every sacrifice of any kind from all your sacrifices, shall be the priest’s; also you shall give to the priest the first of your ground meal, to cause a blessing to rest on your house.
    • This is one of the provokers of God’s blessings, giving God the first fruit of your finance or produce in sacrificial form.
    • You give it in faith. Through this, blessings that are hanging will begin to rest in your hands.
    • I have also seen unphantomable blessings happen by this principle.

  • The greatest dishonor
    • The greatest dishonor you can give to God is to let the enemy have your beginning.
